That’s funny, …
That’s funny, because they don’t have carburetors. And the list you mentioned is still just a small portion of the bike.

2 types of bikers. …
2 types of bikers. Those that take out a second mortgage on a harley that’s rickety at 80mph and mostly RUBs ride nowadays

And those hit the powerband and aren’t concerned with how it looks.

Overpriced, last I checked here local I can buy a new Harley CHEAPER than a new jap crapper of comparible CCs, so i dont buy that Harleys cost SO much more, but they do keep SO much more value !!! Harleys are still Harley, BEST cruisers on the road. If i wanted speed id have kept my sport bike.
Buy A Harley, Ride A Legend !!!!!

I remember when …
I remember when Harley was the best, fastest, most reliable bike on the market. Now with the Japanese and other companies, Harley now relies on naustalgia and loud pipes as well as bad boy image to sell bikes. And yeah, they’re over priced too.

from wiki:

Many components such as brakes, forks, shocks, carburetors, electrics and wheels were outsourced from foreign manufacturers and quality increased, technical improvements were made, and buyers slowly returned. To remain profitable Harley continues to increase the amount of overseas-made parts it uses

Yeah, I have ridden …
Yeah, I have ridden two of the new ones, and found nothing has changed. They vibrate like an out of balance washing maching. They perform the same way too, like a washing machine. I have two ignorant friends that bought hardlys. Both have never owned motorcycles before, both bought them because they knew nothing about motorcycles. They are constantly asking me for advice about their hardlys, and I always tell them, “Get rid of those junks!” The bikes are nothing but problems for them. I laugh.

Rednuts, but it was …
Rednuts, but it was they that mention the outrageous amount of power, not I. Image? The only image that hardlys conjure, is one of loud obnoxious stupid thugs riding junk.

rednut2000:

you gotta remember …
you gotta remember they dont buy the bikes for the power. Its the image and the looks, if they wanted power theyd buy the vmax or somthing.

It might be a big …
It might be a big improvment for harley but compared to todays japanese bikes (not just the sports ones) harley are 30 years behind them.

You must not have …
You must not have been around one since they were bought back from the bowling ball people. Go to your local harley Dealer and look at the new ones, test drive the oldest used one…. then talk. Enjoy the ride, Gator Boy
